Fashola arrests policeman riding ‘okada’ on express road

Governor Fashola yesterday Thursday November 29th ordered the arrest of a policeman riding a motorcycle on Lagos/Abeokuta expressway.

The governor spotted the policeman when his convoy was passing on the Ikeja section of the expressway. Policemen in the governor’s convoy effected the arrest and immediately whisked him away in their van.

Nigerian basketball player shot dead 'after trying to rob a home in Texas'

29 year old Chinedu Onyeuku, a former D'Tigers of Nigeria player, was shot dead in an alleged botched burglary in a home in Texas on November 21.

Police say Chinedu, who played for the Nigerian team that qualified for this year's Olympic Games in London, was trying to break into a home on Rio Grande Street in Plano, Texas with an accomplice when he was shot dead by the home owner.

Chinedu and another individual allegedly entered the house by breaking the glass patio door. The home owner shot Chinedu, killing him instantly, while his accomplice escaped.

Late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s Will Unveiled:Bianca gets Lion Share of his Wealth

 

After a year marking the death of  Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the late elder statesman and leader of the defunct Biafra Republic, his will has been presented to the family with his widow, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, getting the bulk share of his wealth.

The will was presented today by the Chief Registrar of the Enugu High Court, Mr Dennis Ekoh and was witnessed by Bianca, Val Nwosu, Ojukwu’s first cousin, and  Mike Ejemba.

What’s more interesting about the will is that it revealed the late Ojukwu had a love child none of his family members knew about. According to Vanguard, he identified one Tenny Haman as one of his children.

Ojukwu listed the children as Tenny Haman, Chukwuemeka Jnr, Mmegha, Okigbo, Ebele, Chineme, Afam and Nwachukwu.

General Buhari loses first daughter

The first daughter of former Head of State and national leader of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) Gen. Muhammad Buhari (rtd), has died.

Zulai Buhari died in a hospital in Kaduna just two days after giving birth to a daughter. She was 40. She is survived by  her husband, Captain Mahmud Junaid and three children, including the new born baby who is said to be healthy and doing well.

Zulai has been buried in Kaduna according to Islamic rights. RIP

The Power of Facebook- Parents say they learned of daughter’s death on Facebook

The parents of a college freshman who was found dead on campus say they found out about her death on Facebook.

Jasmine Benjamin, a 17-year-old nursing student at Valdosta State University from Lawrenceville, Ga., was found dead in a study area in her dorm on Nov. 18. According to CBS Atlanta, police are treating the death as a homicide, pending the results of an autopsy.

Jasmine's parents say the school did not inform them of her death, learning about it instead through a friend's Facebook post.

"For someone to be so insensitive not to reach out to the family, it's very, very hurtful to say the least," James Jackson, Jasmine's stepfather, told the network.

School officials say campus police notified Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department, which then notified her parents.

FEC approves N2.2bn 150-seater banquet hall for Aso Rock Villa

The federal government of Nigeria wants to spend over two billion Naira for a 150-seater banquet hall. When i heard about it, i thought perhaps the media made a mistake or did not hear them clearly... and perhaps we are talking of a 10, 000 seater hall which is still not a criteria for that kind of amount.

If i remember well, there's an existing banquet hall in the Villa .Why this one again..?

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Muhammed, said the proposed hall, which will be constructed by Julius Berger, will have walk ways, security post, hall conveniences, technical room and press briefing room. 

And all that for a whooping sum of N2.2bn? ..Mbuk?

But wait o, if i were to speak about this, with all honesty, i think we should reconsider the way we exhume our expenditure in this part of the region/world.

If you don't know this candy, then you did not grow in the suburban of Lagos .Well.. I must confess to you, i went to one of the if not the razzziest school in Lag called *Coker Sec. School* But believe me, it was fun going to that school.Cos i met, saw, conquered and discovered some of the craziest stuffs in life..lol

Sometimes in school, we get to see variety of candy as we were supposed to believe then, since we are young and can easily be manipulate. Also during class, a particular woman who's then our yoruba teacher, comes to trade in our class *Jss 2A* during her own period instead of teaching... lol

She begs us not to be noisy about whatever we are doing, because this might implicate her. Now she comes in with a particular jingle, can't remember much, but i think it goes this way; *Children baba dudu reeee* hahahahahahahahaa! *wonder where she is and what she is doing now* ...hmm!

Lately, i discovered that baba dudu is made out of cooking sugar in syrup* crazy yeah?

wow, good ol'days when baba dudu rocks! wonder if it is still around and what name they call it now and am sure so many of you out there that went to one of those razz school in naija or lived somewhere eer eeerm, must have tasted this amazing, sensational candy called *BABA DUDU* and I hope you know it is one of the quick access to diabetes...;-)

LONDON (AFP) – Chelsea expressed Tuesday their “regrets” over the way they complained of racist abuse by referee Mark Clattenburg.

The European champions, in a a joint statement with referees’ body Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) and the Premier League, admitted they should have “given more consideration” before making their allegation public.

Last week the Football Association (FA) decided to take no disciplinary action whatsoever against Clattenburg following an investigation into Chelsea’s allegation he used “inappropriate language” against midfielder John Obi Mikel.

Lagos police arrest suspected serial murderer, robber

Ibrahim Balogun, A 25-year-old man accused of perpetrating a series of murders in Somolu, Bariga and Fadeyi in Lagos state, has apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command.

PUNCH Metro reported on June 25, 2012, that Balogun A.K.A Small Jpron, was declared wanted following a gang-related violence between Shaggy Boys and Downtown Boys which left at least five people dead in Ilaje, Bariga.
